Nunavut ATV Caribou Hunts. Only $5450 for 2x1 guided hunts. Spots available in September and October 2011. Hunting by ATV gives the mobility and freedom to travel across the tundra in search of trophy caribou. The basic hunt package is where travel is with a guide and camps are along the trail in canvas tents. This hunt is physically challenging, full of adventure and an excellent opportunity to get a trophy of a lifetime. Imagine being able to travel in any direction (100% mobility) without being confined to a lake or limited travel on foot. Caribou are hunted as they are migrating through the western Hudson Bay lowlands. The bulls are in prime condition prior to the rut with polished hard horn antlers. The Qamanirjuaq caribou herd is over half a million strong so you can expect to see lots of caribou during the time. The mobile tent camps are basic with guides doing the cooking, equipped with satellite phones and toilets. Small game hunting and fishing is also available.
Hunt includes two caribou tags, services of experienced guides, preparation of trophies and packing material for meat and antlers, lodging and meals and use of ATV’s during the hunt.
Hunt does not include airfare to and from Arviat, government tag and trophy fees, lodging and meals in Arviat or a southern stop over, gratuities to guides, items of a personal nature, including sleeping bags, excess baggage charges, any costs incurred by delays due to bad weather or mechanical problems.
