Dear Bob: I wanted to let you and your entire staff know how much I enjoyed my elk hunt with you. The fact that I took a nice bull just added to a great hunt.

Every aspect of your operation is conducted in a totally professional manner. The guide I hunted with is the perfect example of a true professional hunter. As a result of his efforts I saw approximately 100 elk in my five days of hunting. In fact, my observation of all your guides indicated they were of similar caliber.

The accommodations camp atmosphere you have established greatly enhances the enjoyment of the hunt. Additionally, the food prepared by your wife, Shelia and her helpers was absolutely outstanding. She clearly runs the best restaurant in Chama!

Again, thank you for a wonderful hunting experience. You have exceptional hunting country, plenty of elk, and operate a truly professional operation. I would highly recommend anyone wanting a great Hunt to do it with CRO.

It has been my pleasure to hunt with Chama River Outfitters of Chama, NM for the past 16 years. I have hunted elk in 5 western states
with different outfitters and none compare to the experience of hunting with Bob & Shelia
Ball.

Bob runs a terrific hunt, from the camp, cabins and food to the very experienced personel
in the guides and camphands. Shelia operates a top notch kitchen with the very best meals 3 times a day and her staff always aims to please.

Bob maintains a very high quality hunt because he believes in preserving the land and animals on all the ranches he leases. Every year my wife and I look forward to
our annual trip to Chama for good times and great memories.

Sincerely, George Ghiglia

Dear Bob & Shelia:

First of all, I want to thank you for the absolutely fantastic time at Rancho Ball during the hunt. The accommodations were the best and the food, well, y'all witnessed the carnage at the table each and every time you pur food in front of me! Shelia, you are an absolutely fantastic cook. I don't know why or how Bob stays as trim as he does...I'd be as big as a barn! It was really great.

Bob, you are a fantastic guy and a fantastic guide (when your hunter listens to you). You are more knowledgeable about elk hunting than anyone I have ever met. You taught me a lot and I'll never forget it. I hope one of these days to make another hunt like that one. I will never forget the first time I heard that elk bugle...it put chills down my spine. It is one of the prettiest sounds that I have ever heard.

Well I guess I better wrap this up. 'Hope the gun season went well.

Sincerely, Dave Mayfield

Bob Ball ran a first class operation. All the hunters and guides involved were great, down-to-earth people. Bob and Sheila had a great staff. Their accommodations were warm, pre-fab cabins with bunks and heaters that could have easily slept 3-4 men. Seemed like all the guides in camp did everything they could to make the hunts successful for their clients. Bob runs a very tight operation with good, clear communication. He had a couple of hunters in camp that were physically impaired and they did everything possible to get them in the field and get them a shot at an elk. I had such a great trip and would love to go back sometime.

The outfit was first class – Bob and Shelia were the kindest most thoughtful people. The crew was great including the cooks and one in particular stands out (Harold from Mississippi). The food was nothing short of amazing and they had way too much. I was impressed to find they had a flushing toilet & hot shower at 10,000 feet. All the cabins had electricity. One of the things that I thought would be an uncontrollable variable was that hunters, however, Bob still had that under control and all were great, quality people and clients. Bob makes sure that he only invites people back if he feels like they are up to par as a hunter and as a person. Thanks again.

I have hunted with Bob & Sheila for four years with both bow and rifle. I have shot two elk one with bow and one with rifle.
The cabins are very nice and the food is great. The guides and the hunt are operated in a professional manner and thier expertise show.
I had a bad accident several years ago and they have gone out of thier way to accomadate my needs. You can hunt from a blind or get to the chase, whichever suites your style.
It is a beautiful place with lots of elk. I recommend this hunt to anyone.
You can contact me for if you wish.

From arrival in Chama NM and first meeting at Finas diner things could not have been handled more professionally - and with good common-sense. Bob controlled every variable he could with the exception of the weather. Food was outstanding , kitchen area was clean, food well prepared. Kitchen help went above and beyond expectations, they knew your name, what you liked to drink, how you liked eggs, etc. I could tell that Bob Ball and Shelia had done this many times before and were experts at the cause. Camp was well organized and all guidelines were given first night. Safety was a consideration and every hunter was told that if there was anything they required to let them know what it was. In the kitchen area hunters were expected to be gentlemen, and also to watch their language and offer respect to staff and other hunters. Campfire allowed the more colorful hunters to express themselves. Hunting 9000 acres is not easy but the guides were very well prepared and professional.

Just got back from my first hunt with Bob and Shelia. Collected a 6 x 6 bull the first morning by 7:40 am. I have hunted enough to know it isn't always that easy. By the end of the second day five of the ten hunters had harvested a bull and two more passed on shots and one miss. Great people and a great atmosphere! Thanks Bob & Shelia.
