You know I've guided hunts in illinois and booked hunts for several outfitters. I know the ins and outs of what happens behind the scenes and it is a shame that people spend their hard earned money for hunts that were doomed from the start, I've lived and learned as they say. This is now my 5th year with you and have to say, you and your staff are by far the hardest working and most willingest outfitter to see that me "your client" is successful. I know that when I come to camp its going to be clean, I'm fed until I burst and you are going to put me in an area that has a known shooter roaming. You have proven this year in and year out. My anticipation for the upcoming season grows stronger every year. Truly North Star Outfitters is a special place

I have been on 5 guided trips , none were as enjoyable as this Black Bear hunt . 1st class accomodations, food and most important the hunt .
Neil and his staff do everything possible to insure success in the field . Seen several bears ,blacks and brown bears in the area . Just follow simple directions on this web site and book your hunt today . Would also recomend the Father/son hunt on this trip .

It was a wonderful experience for me as a first time bear hunter. From the facilities to the food to the stands everything was great. I was able to connect about half way through a very tough week on a medium sized bear. I would like to thank Kathy for the wonderful groceries (I put on 5 pounds). I would like to thank "Pugs" for getting us there when you had other things to do. It was a great week with really good people. Thank you,

Thanks for the 2007 hunt Baron & I took nice bucks in Alberta and Saskatchewan. In the whitetail hunting world booking a hunt can be a difficult decision. We look forward to many more years with North Star . I can honestly say that I feel comfortable spending the money, because I know the quality hunt you provide .Your Saskatchewan hunt is superb, very relaxing with a great oppertunity at a trophy class whitetail . Erv does a very nice job in Sask camp . Your Alberta operation is great too . I couldn't pick between the two that's why I hunt both . We are returning to hunt both places in 08 so anyone wanting info on these hunts you can call me in the evenings

As a hunter from Illinois with many hunting opportunities some may wonder why I would decide to utilize your outfitting services in Alberta for whitetail deer. Simply, I came on the advice of other hunters who had previously visited. Now I feel I must somehow return the favor. Anyone interested in the opportunity to hunt for world class whitetail and muley deer while being fed like a king in style and comfort need look no further than North Star Outfitting. I witnessed first hand the dedication and hard work that you and your daughter Alysha put into making sure that my hunt as well as everyone else's hunt, whether first timer or long timer was as enjoyable and successful as possible. I can not thank you and your entire staff enough for the great time that I had. I am still awed by the fact that I accomplished something that I surely never will in Illinois....... harvesting with a bow an early season mature 13 point whitetail buck still completely in velvet.

On my first day Neil put me in a spot where I tagged out in 20 minutes on my biggest WT to date... Two days later I bagged a big mulie.

I have been chasing whitetail for years in hot spots like North Dakota, Kansas and Saskatchewan with various degrees of success. This year I hunted Alberta with Neil and North Star hoping to finally have a chance at a 150 class WT and combo with a mule deer. On my first day Neil put me in a spot where I tagged out in 20 minutes on my biggest WT to date, a 164” 12 pointer. Two days later I bagged a big mulie. Yeah I got lucky, but North Star gave me a chance to get lucky. Having personally experienced many different WT outfitters over the last 6 years, North Star has been the most successful and the accommodations are first rate. I will return in 09 to see if Neil can do it again.

To Serious Big Buck Hunters Only

The last decade I've traveled north across the border hunting Saskatchewan and Alberta. I've harvested bucks in the 150's and 160's most years. This season was spectacular because I hunted with someone who knew BIG BUCKS. Neil Johnson, owner of North Star Outfitting, and his daughter, Alicia, are experts on the knowledge of deer. Their expertise of the area and the patterns of whitetail deer are by far the best I've ever seen. The guides studied these big bucks with trail cams, fall photographing and spotting scopes. They know their habits and what Neil calls "a hot area NOW"!!! The food was great and the guides were awesome and Neil's camp is top-notch and relaxing. Looking forward to having another great week of hunting in the near future.

Hunting at North Star Outfitters has become one of our favorite places to go.
We have hunted bears, whitetails and mule deer with much success for our television show. If your looking for a reputable outfitter to go with that has good accommodations, great food and big animals then this is the place we would recommend.
