Saskatchewan Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunts: We hunt on private land in the surrounding area, all locations are 5 to 30 minutes from camp. Our guides are all local residents who are extremely familiar with this area. We take a maximum of 6 hunters per week in November. We also have an early season in October for muzzle loader hunters.

Alberta Trophy Mule Deer Hunts: There are no clothing color regulations in Alberta. There are very few bow hunters in the area and I only book 2 weeks with 4 per week. This can come be combined with waterfowl hunting as well. We offer five rifle mule deer hunts in November.

Black Bear Hunts:This hunting area has extremely good results. The Alberta record black bear was taken in this area. There are at least 50 per cent colored bears and the hides are exceptionally thick (two bear limit).

Our bait stations are always kept stocked and are located far enough apart (six miles) to draw a maximum number of bears. Large permanent platform tree stands are strategically located to give you, the hunter, the best possible advantage as well as comfort. They are large enough to accommodate even video equipment.

For those who prefer, we also offer secure, safe ground blinds.Hunters see between 10 and 20 bears in a normal six day hunting trip. Hunters have seen as many as 10 different bears on a single bait. I only take 10 bear hunters, 24 deer hunters and 18 goose hunters per year. Book a year in advance due to 80% client return rate.

We hunt in one of the most remote fly-in regions of North, American, the Sub-Arctic of Northern Manitoba, pursuing trophy animals that have never seen a human other than the rare trapper. 750 miles North of the US-Canadian border, over 200 miles from the closest road, our area is unique and allows us to offer the best of both the woodlands and tundra.

Black Bear Hunting: We are quickly gaining a reputation as one of North America's finest black bear hunts for big, trophy bear. This is virgin territory and the bear populations are excellent with many bears 300-350 lbs. This is also one of the few areas in NA where hunters have a chance at large color-phase (chocolates, blonds, cinnamons) bears. The bears have never been hunted and have no knowledge or fear of people. There is no finer place to hunt a large black bear at close range!

Caribou Hunting: The best-kept secret in hunting. For those who do their homework, the Manitoba caribou hunt is the finest opportunity to take a potential record book caribou. Our caribou, the Qamairjuag herd, migrate every year into Northern Manitoba from their calving grounds in Nunavut. The herd is estimated at over 450,000 animals! Every year, we take several B&C and P&Y animals with our top score so far at 402. Even more impressive is the average score of our racks, with our current average at 335(B7C is 350).

Moose Hunting: The Ghosts of the Northernland. We specialize in hunting big bulls, moose averaging from 42' to 52', have taken several at 57', and seen giants over 60'. Our terrain consists of a vast region with over 12 rivers and a hundred lakes. Camps hold from 1 - 4 hunters per camp and we rarely mix parties, giving you a truly customized hunt. Success runs 50 - 60 %, varying for year to year, and opportunity is 90%. We hunt by boat, traveling to different areas by water, and repetitively calling. It is like hunting a ghost, except when the ghost appears, he stands 8' at the shoulder and weighs over 1200 lbs.

Wolf Hunting: A bonus to hunting in Manitobais the availability of wolf hunting. A wolf can be taken on any unfulfilled big game license without affecting the license. There are lots of wolves in our area and many of our hunters have excellent opportunities. Our hunting method for wolves are mostly be chance, or whole following the caribou herd, or on bear baits.

At Steeprock River Outfitters we offer both spring and fall black bear hunts with over 2,500 square miles of natural Canadian wilderness habitat. The two biggest areas that we hunt in are the breathtaking Porcupine Provincial Forest and near the beautiful shoreline of Lake Winnipegosis. We have well established bear baits with well placed, and comfortable archery and rifle stands. Each of our black bear hunts have the possibility of seeing several different types of bears including, harvesting a big or colour phased bear. This hunt is ideal for archery, muzzleloader, or rifle hunters which makes this Manitoba black bear hunt extremely accommodating for any type of hunter. An added bonus hunting is that a Timber Wolf and Coyote may be harvested in the fall black bear season prior to harvesting you Black Bear at NO additional cost!

Several nearby lakes and streams in and around Porcupine Provincial Forest are filled with many different species of fish including Northern Pike, Walleye and Rainbow Trout. This is a great way to spend your day after harvesting your trophy black bear early! We will gladly take care of all the arrangements if you enjoy fishing!

While hunting with us at Steeprock River Outfitters, you will enjoy staying in our spacious, fully furnished 3700 square foot registered Bed & Breakfast home. We have five private, non-smoking bedrooms including one three person recreation room all with either double or queen size beds.

Meals are home cooked daily including a full breakfast, bag lunch and a three course supper with sufficient portions. Enjoy eating several different types of wild game buffet style!

We also offer our hunting guests a private full bathroom, laundry facilities, extra towels, bedding & pillows, satellite television, DVD & VCR player, separate refrigerator for private use, and a large 1600 square foot double-door heated shop for storage or parking.
