About Dall Sheep: A wild sheep of the mountainous regions of northwest North America, ranging from white to slate brown and having curved yellowish brown horns.

Dall Sheep are found in relatively dry country and try to stay in a special combination of open alpine ridges, meadows, and steep slopes with extremely rugged ground in the immediate vicinity, in order to escape from predators that cannot travel quickly through such terrain.[Wiki]

Our hunts are high quality, one-on-one and low volume which ensures you an Alaskan Hunting Adventure of a Lifetime! The land and wildlife are my livelihood. By only taking a few customers a year, I maintain at or near 100% success on all species. I work very hard at 100% customer satisfaction. I am personally involved with all the hunts and take great pride in the trophies our clients harvest from this renewable natural resource.

We do Dall Sheep Hunts int he coveted 14C Drawing area. This is a walk-in only area with very large rams. Application deadlines are December 6th of the previous year of the hunt. We can assist you in the application process.

We hunt trophy brown bears in the beautiful Wood-Tichik State Park, which is the largest state park in North America. Our moose hunts take place in Wood-Tikchick State Park and along the Nushagak River.

If fishing is your passion, we will provide you with the opportunity to fish the largest natural run of King Salmon in the world! There are other fish that call this river home too. These include Dog or Chum Salmon, Humpey or Pink Salmon, Northern Pike and even an occassional Rainbow trout.

About Pete Jensen Outfitting

OUTDOORSMAN.COM OUTFITTER OF THE MONTH - JULY 2008

The outfit is solely owned and operated by Pete and Sharon Jensen. Pete has been guiding and outfitting for 41 years. He doesn't usually guide any longer. He feels that the enthusiastic young guides can give the hunters a great hunting experience. Sharon cooks at base camp and does the go-for work. We hire 4 guides for the season. They seem to like the working conditions and area, and therefore usually stay for some time. Each hunter is supplied with a guide.

We have the Alaska Yukon Moose. The largest one we have taken is 72 inches. Our yearly average is usually 57 to 59 inches. We hunt the moose in the rut, which starts the end of August through to the middle of Oct. We have 10 day moose hunts that you can add a caribou and grizzly to. You carry the tags and only pay for the additional animals when you take them.

The Yukon is on a quota system for Grizzlies. We hunt grizzly as an add-on to another hunt. You only have to ask for a tag when you book. Our grizzly run between 6 1/2 and 8 feet. We have a very good grizzly population in the area. The grizzly makes a nice add on to the 10 day moose, and caribou hunts.

We have both Dall and Fannin Sheep in the area. Our average length of horn has run between 36 and 38 for years. The largest sheep that we ever took was 43 1/2. Hunting for sheep is done on horseback, glassing is done from the valley. Climbing and final stalk is done on foot.

We have a resident herd of barren-ground Caribou. We hunt this herd throughout our regular season. In August they are in velvet and make nice mounts. We have taken a lot of nice caribou with some going in the Boone and Crocket book. The latest and largest one to go in the book measured 441 points.

About Alaska Trophy Hunting

Experience the Ultimate Hunting Adventure on a Deluxe Hunting Yacht, as it cruises the vast and magnificent Coastal Waters of Alaska. View dormant volcanoes, rugged coastlines, and majestic mountains that seem to drop magically into the ocean. Cruise past ancient glaciers as they crawl into the sea creating walls of ice that tower hundreds of feet into the air. Observe Humpback Whales, Orca Killer Whales, Stellar Sea Lions, Seals, Sea Otters, and hundreds of thousands of sea birds in their Rookeries.

Hunt the giant Brown Bear, the Alaskan trophy that is included on the list of the "World's Top 10 Trophies" by world renowned hunters. Pursue the elusive pure white Mountain Goat that inhabits the Coastal Mountains of Alaska. Hunt them from the comfort of a yacht in September when their winter hair is six to eight inches long and they are migrating down from their lofty peaks to lower levels with the first snow fall. Enjoy an easy hunt in the Spring when the Black Bear are found along the shoreline coves and meadows filling themselves with beach grass. Add a handsome Sitka BlackTail Deer to your trophy collection. Hunt large trophy Moose on the Coast where the genetics can produce some hugh racks. Or take a break from hunting and enjoy some fishing for Salmon or the monster Halibut that are easily taken from the cold waters of Alaska.

Feast like kings on New York Steaks and chops, King Crab, fresh sea foods, fresh vegetables and fruits, good desserts, and plenty of snacks and beverages. All of which are easily kept chilled and fresh in the yachts spacious coolers.

The yacht has a wide range and can cover a great deal of hunting country. Depending on the animals being sought, your hunting area includes Kodiak Island, Afognak Island, the Alaskan Peninsula, the waters from Homer to Seward, Prince William Sound, and the Coast of Alaska from Valdez to Yakutat. You will be able to explore places that are difficult for other hunters to reach.

Vern Humble is your host and outfitter. He has over 30 years of experience hunting professionally in Alaska. In addition to conducting cruise hunts he is also offering special hunts for Dall Sheep, Black Bear, Brown/Grizzly Bear, and Caribou in other game rich areas throughout Alaska. This year he is offering two special hunts, one is for Brown/Grizzly Bear and Black Bear for 10 days on the upper Skwentna River in August. This area has a bag limit allowing two Brown/Grizzly Bear and 3 Black Bear per season. It also features time to fish for large Rainbow Trout and Salmon. The other is for large Trophy Moose on the Coast of Alaska where the antlers can measure between 70 and 80 inches. Contact us for information about these two outstanding Alaskan hunts.
