Information about Guaranteed Elk Hunting

Outdoorsman.com features the Top Guaranteed High Fence Elk hunting ranches, hunting guides, hunting outfitters, and hunting lodges in the United States and Canada offering Trophy Guaranteed High Fence Elk hunts. Our listed Guaranteed High Fence Elk hunting guides, hunting outfitters, and hunting lodges are some of the best in the industry and are proven professionals that offer World Class Trophy Guaranteed High Fence Elk hunts.

These high fence hunts are guaranteed and provide hunters the chance of seeing elk all day long.

Information from our high fence elk hunting outfitters:

In some cases you pay outfitters to take you deep into the wilderness to spot elk with the chance of possibly shooting one. In this case you will pay the outfitter to take good care of you show off his discretely fenced ranch and give you a chance to shoot a bull of your choice. If you have paid for a smaller bull and change your mind in the middle of the hunt you can always upgrade and pay the extra to shoot that real trophy bull elk.

Some people claim that high fence hunting is unsporting - we suggest that you come try it and see just how enjoyable and exciting that it can be. You see an immense amount of elk and on a 2000 acre parcel it is hard to feel like you are in an enclosure. All the elk on the ranches are extremely healthy and have superior genetics. The bulls on these high fence ranches still rut and compete with other bulls for dominance. You will experience the elk in their early autumn bugling and battles and also the later season browsing and basking. It is quite an experience to sneak up on 10 - 15 different bull elk in one day. High fence hunting ranches are a great way for kids to get their first chance at a cow or smaller bull. These type of fenced hunts are also very conducive to older clients or less mobile clients who may have never otherwise had the opportunity to hunt public land elk. If you think about all the years and frustration of trying to draw out on the ever elusive state trophy bull elk tags - the money for one of these bulls and the guaranteed hunting opportunity is priceless. In all honesty you may never have a chance to shoot a bull elk this big. The majority of elk hunters never shoot a bull elk and most of those bull elk hunters never take a bull over 300.

About Guaranteed Elk Hunts: Hunt in a variety of locations for a variety of elk species – but don’t leave it up to luck, have your hunt be guaranteed. Guaranteed hunts are conducted on private land with an abundance of elk readily available, making each shot really count.

Leave for a hunting adventure of a lifetime, knowing you’ll be coming home with that trophy you’ve always dreamed of.

Nice huntable ranch – heavily wooded – hard to hunt the animals. Camp was in nice location, very secluded, miles of dirt roads to get there. Stayed in Mountain home at the hotel and drove out every day. Travel time from mountain home was 1hr - almost all dirt roads. Very Hospitable – nice barn and hoist to clean the animals. They bring the animal in for you and you clean it. Walter always got right in to help. Saw a number of elk, usually in groups of 2-3 or 10-15. Used rifle. Good communication and pre-hunt confirmation. Had some friends that had hunted with Walter and they recommended him. Will hunt with them next year. Hunted 3 years in a row. Very good in the field communication Walter is great about following up and making certain that you had a good experience. Excellent hunt for a busy person that cannot afford to take a full week off (with typical outfitter uncertainties) - but, would like to enjoy a nice elk hunt and shoot a big bull.

Comfort; Walt picked up at the airport served as a personal chaufer. Due to a plan change in camp, Walt paid for a stay in a local bed and breakfast. Animals; Numerous options from cows to spikes to branch antlered bulls. Hunting was very easy and very enjoyable. Hunted the ranch alone based on request and personal preference. Once the animal was down Walt came in with an ATV, picked up the animal, and took care of everything from dressing to caping and transportation to a local butcher. Communication; Excellent prehunt communication Very upfront- hunt was sold appropriately with no false expectations. If someone is looking for a nice ranch-hunting experience this is the one. Couldn't have been friendlier, kinder, or more accommodating. Even the local butcher shop was nice. They arranged for shipping to a home post office. From a blue-collar guy - who saves up for these trips - this is an excellent experience. Will do it as a bow hunt next time.

I cannot say enough about the Pine Meadows Elk Ranch. The hunting is excellent, but I am sold on the overall experience. Pine Meadows offers an array of possibilites to choose from. The accommodations are excellent. The Elk stock was exactly what I would expect in a ranch hunt, good healthy animals with a broad variety. The after-kill process was very orderly with all of the convienences and necessary facilites to clean and transport the Elk. Walter Sturgis and his wife were very hospitable and made the hunt quite memorable. I would recommend this hunt to anyone, in fact, I have already booked my hunt next year.

Phone conversation with Walter today. On my first attempt I ended up speaking with his wife. Mrs Sturgis is as nice to talk to as he is. She told me that she could not bother him because he was out welding on equipment in the shop, and that the creative process could be seriously impeded if she interrupted. When Walt called me back we had a nice conversation. He told me; 'We have had more calls this year prior to July than ever before. I think that may be attributable to OUTDOORSMAN.' All of Walts clients have told me the same thing - that he is as honest as the day is long and you will not be dissappointed with the hunt or with Mr Sturgis' style. They take good care of you from pickup to dropoff and are very concerned about your happiness and well being. What more could you ask for in a guide or a host?

I have been on a lot of elk hunts and I've been in a lot of elk camps, however, this will by far stand out as one of the best hunts I've been on. I truly appreciated the accommodations. It got down to about 36 degrees at night but the little heater in the cabins knocked the chill off and the raised bunks with foam mattresses made it a comfortable nights sleep. Trent did an excellent job on the food. The guides were 'johnny on the spot', especially Danny, he just seemed to appear any time we needed help. The guides literally just take over once the elk is down and let you, the hunter, get involved to whatever extent you desire. I will go back to hunt again and I don't even care to shoot anything bigger than what I took this year.

this was my first guided hunt, and what a great way to start. great people, beautiful location, lots of elk. I spent two days hunting before i found the elk i wanted, Travis was very helpful in tracking and spotting the elk. the time spent hunting was a joy. the accomadations were very comfortable, the cabins were cozy and the tents were just as warm and dry. Trent is a great cook. never any shortage of food or snacks. i hope to go hunt with these great men again.

Recent conversation with Glenna Rasmussen, one of the ranch owners, she was telling me about Kevin Reids monster 500+ bull that he took last year. She also said that they had a father and his two sons, from Texas, come to the ranch and they all shot bulls in the 440 range - and, the ranch still has more to offer. I thought it was quite appropriate that the sign on the entrance says "We are not 5 star we are 6 point or better". In the last 2 years Thunder Mountain Elk Ranch has put multiple elk hunters in the SCI record books.

I had an incredible time on the ranch. The lodging was excellent. The meals were great and the hunting was better than I had hoped for. It is harder hunting than I anticipated, but Billy and Danny worked hard to get me onto my huge bull. The bulls were bugling hard and the mountain is big and beautiful. Thanks for a great memory and the lasting friendship for all the family. Dave
