Information about Largemouth Bass Fishing

The largemouth bass is a species of fish in the sunfish family. It is also known as the bigmouth bass or bucketmouth bass. The largemouth is marked by a series of dark, sometimes black, blotches forming a jagged horizontal stripe along each flank. The upper jaw extends beyond the rear margin of the orbit. The fish can live as long as 23 years, and is the largest of the black basses.

OUTDOORSMAN aims to present only the most reputable outfitters and guides, however, we recognize that there is always potential for personality conflicts and misunderstandings. Therefore, we recommend that you use the 'outfitter submittal' forms to discuss your needs & expectations then gather more information and make an informed decision.

Want to say most of all how very much I enjoyed meeting you and getting the chance to visit with you during our recent trip. I'm looking forward to fishing with you again in the future. It sure was great fishing for peacock bass in Brazil with you recently aboard the Amazon Voyager. My partner and I had the following over ten pounds: one 12, a 14, two 15's, two 16's, two 18's, two 19's, one 20, a 20 1/2, and a 21! All but one on topwater! What fantastic action!!! See you in December when we rewind and do it all over again.

The fishing was nothing short of fantastic! We caught over 200 bass each day and had fish of at least 9 pounds each day and boated 3 over 10 pounds! From the time George picked us up until we were dropped off at the airport for the trip home your staff at Trophy Bass Lodge were great to deal with. Our food and accommodations were fine and the service was great. Most of our bass came on Flukes and Senkos, but I worked my way thru my tackle box on the last morning and I caught fish on 16 different lures! It was simply amazing! Virtually all of our bass over 6 pounds came on the Storm Wild Eye swim bait. Tom used the 4” and I caught all of mine on the 5” model in Shiner/Chartreuse or Pearl dipped in Chartreuse dye. Our guide, Louis, was outstanding and entertaining. He knows bass and is a delight to share a boat with. I can assure you that Tom and I will request him when we return to Lake Huites and Trophy Bass Lodge. Yes we have to come back!

Wow, Huites is awesome! Check out this 9+ pounder that was 15 minutes into my first morning on the lake. I caught it on top water and my fishing partner Larry caught a 7+ off the same point a split second later. A 16# double! We had a great time shooting 4 episodes of Fishing Across America on Lake Huites. The amount of fish and quality is second to none. Louis our guide and the other staff at the lodge were fantastic. Thanks for a great experience that will be remembered for a life time! Catch you later,
