About Big Canon Lake Lodge

Thank you for your interest. Our lodge is located in a remote area of northwestern Ontario, 25 miles northwest of Vermilion Bay, accessible only by float plane. We offer an outstanding variety of fishing that includes Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, Muskie, and Northern Pike. We fish our main lake, the adjacent river system and five portage lakes.

In recent years our waters have produced Walleye to 12 pounds, Smallmouth Bass to 6 pounds, Lake Trout to 27 pounds, Muskies to 30 pounds, and Northern Pike to 28 pounds. These are the waters you won't forget. Wet your line and start hauling in the Tackle Busters.

Big Canon Lake. This is our main lake where the lodge is located. Over 75 miles of shoreline surround this deep, crystal clear, spring fed fisherman's paradise. Ranging from three to four miles wide and about eight miles long, this lake has an area of 8.8 square miles or about 5,600 acres. Famous for its Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass, Big Canon also produces the occasional trophy Muskie and Northern Pike. This lake has never been commercially fished. (A boat & motor for every two fishermen is maintained at the lodge.)

Wabigoon River System/Segise Flowage. This system is adjacent to the lodge with over 25 miles available to fish. Excellent Walleye and Northern Pike with some Smallmouth Bass. Transportation to and from the river dock is provided by "Super D" (truck & trailer). (Ten boats & motors are maintained at the river dock plus two guide boats.)

The accommodations are ten well built log and frame cabins which comfortably sleep from two to six people each. Each cabin has a full bathroom (with toilet & shower) and hot and cold running water. Each cabin is also equipped with electricity (24 hour), a heavy duty wood burning stove with glass door, refrigerator and twin beds with inner spring mattresses. Linens and towels are provided along with daily maid service. You can expect well kept and clean cabins.

About Andy Myers Lodge

Andy Myers Lodge is well known for its rustic, meticulously maintained lodge and cottages, beautiful setting and excellent fishing. The camp is hidden away in a quaint location on a bay named after us on beautiful Eagle Lake, just outside Vermilion Bay, Ontario Canada.

Eagle Lake, in Ontario Canada, is famous for its canadian fishing and scenic beauty, which features 63,428 acres of water and more than 490 islands with many bays, channels, weed beds and drop-offs to explore during your canadian fishing adventure. The average depth, of Eagle Lake, is 22 feet with a maximum depth of 110 feet. You are never far from a fishing hot spot on Eagle Lake.

Besides being committed to making your stay as comfortable and relexing as possible, there is a strong emphasis on providing you with fishing information. Owner, Steve Herbeck, has developed a reputation as one of North America's top guides and fishing instructors.

Fishing on Eagle Lake is unique in that it produces trophy fishing, of all five major species, throughout the season and is one of the most exciting canadian lakes for fishing. Eagle Lake has fishing for world record muskie (musky), tasty canadian walleye, feisty smallmouth bass, tackle busting northern pike, and an excellent fishing for both lake trout and whitefish. If that wasn't enough to keep you busy, we have boats on other area canadian fishing lakes such as Corner, Clearwater, Buzzard, McGregor, Bottle Bay, Violet, Stewart, Canyon, and the entire Indian Chain of canadian fishing lakes.

Your week will begin with an orientation seminar complete with marked fishing maps, demonstrations on productive patterns and techniques to help get you started catching fish. All guests and staff are introduced so everyone feels welcome and at home. This is followed up with a Wednesday night gathering to discuss any new or changing patterns and techniques that have developed during your stay.

Besides the great fishing and hunting on Eagle Lake in Ontario Canada, there are lots of activities to do at Andy Myers Canada Fishing and Hunting Lodge. Take a swim, sunbathe, canoe, take a hike or explore and enjoy the scenery and wild life, go berry picking or just plain relax. There is nothing quite like sitting down near the lake listening to the loons call or the wind whispering to you as it flows through the tree tops.

There is always good, old-fashioned fishing talk going on every evening in the lodge and if you need more help, just ask and you'll get it. Andy Myers is a stopping place for many of North America's top fishing pros (see our "Special Weeks" page of our website) and they are always willing to share some of their secrets and tips.

What can I say, AML is the place! Amazing resort, great staff, guides who share knowledge and help get you onto fish. Thanks Herbie and all of your staff. It was also great meeting and chatting with Scott. He is a great addition! Our week was tough fishing but we ended up with 9 in the boat. 7 on Spanky Baits and 2 on suckers. Herbie you spoke wrong on your latest report. I alone had 8 oppertunities at legit 50"+ fish. Several were 53" but the pig dog down west was 55-57 and If I didn't have to do CPR on Bush I might have boated her. Actually we were both shaking. Chad was the hot stick boating 7 of the 9 and he had some cracks at big girls too. We fished in shorts and sandals then switched to winter gear as is snowed. Winds like we had were tough for boat control, but we managed. Never seen a lake drop temp.s so fast ever. That just meant we had to turn things up a bit. 361 days left until AML trip Again, Thanks and see you next year!

Steve, Jeff and I would like to thank you for a great week fishing, eating, and relaxing. Your staff and accommodations are top notch. Thanks for the use of your gear and advice, especially for two guys who had no idea how to musky fish. It was a pleasure fishing with you as well. I want to personally thank Andy for putting me on my biggest fish ever with that fat hogging 48". That one may just get replicated and put over my fireplace. The only good thing about being back to reality is that my arms need a rest from throwing that double bladed bucktail all week. I told Jeff that his 41 isn't bad either for someone who basically has never fished before. Thanks for showing him how to cast the baitcaster too! I think were both hooked now on musky fishing....you said they call you the "Pusher." Thanks again, hope to see you in the future.

To Steve and the enire staff at AML...Was lucky enough to spend two weeks up there this year. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, from meeting fellow musky guys all over the country to learning tips how to properly fish a trophy lake like Eagle. I saw more 50"+ fish in two weeks then I have probably seen in my life. To echo the sentiments of many, this is a first class camp that I see myself coming to for years to come

About Natural Wonders Angling

Our goal at Natural Wonders is to ensure that each and every one of our guests gets to catch a variety of species using a variety of different techniques which are most likely completely new to them.

There are more species of freshwater fish available in the Niagara region than in any other waters in North America, and with over 244 thousand lakes in Ontario alone, that adds up to a lot of fish, and a lot of fabulous fishing opportunities.

It doesn't matter whether your background is sea, coarse, or game and your usual quarry is Cod, Carp or Char because the wide variety of species available and the techniques we use to catch them will appeal to any angler of any genre. In addition, our fully-guided packages have been specifically designed to appeal and cater to both seasoned anglers and novices alike. We’ll get you out catching right from the start. What’s more, each and every tactic we employ will be thoroughly explained to you during the course of your fishing trips with your guides.

It's truly world-class. No doubt about it! King Salmon and Rainbow Trout (Steelhead) undoubtedly top the list as our dominant and most sought-after species, but the Niagara River and nearby Lake Erie are also home to the best Smallmouth Bass, Walleye (Zander), Yellow Perch and Muskie fisheries in the world. Having access to any one of those fisheries would be great in itself, but to have all of these “world’s best” fisheries on our doorstep is truly amazing.

Not only will you experience world-class fishing on Lake Ontario and the Niagara River, but we will also accommodate you in Canada’s prettiest town. There's also a wealth of additional world famous tourist attractions to complement your holiday within a few minutes of your luxurious Bed and Breakfast accommodation in beautiful Niagara on the lake.

Once we’re off the water and the rods are put away for the day, we’ll help you decide where to go and what to see next, because there's simply so much more than just the awesome fishing here. We’ll definitely make sure that your stay is as relaxing, comfortable, and as enjoyable as we can, and that's our promise to you.

Take a closer look at what we offer and you’ll quickly realise that you will get much more holiday than you bargained for. We believe that no other fishing vacation can pack so much adventure, so many world-class sights and attractions, and such incredible fishing into a single destination. In fact, we’re so sure that there’s so much to see and do here that we’ve even put together a package for those who wish to bring their non-fishing partners! Remember, this isn’t just a fishing holiday, it’s a holiday packed with angling adventure for people who love to catch fish - lots of fish!

Our day of fishing exceeded our expectations in every way. As novice fishermen, we immediately felt at ease with Joe. His knowledge of the lake and extensive experience took us right to the fish. We spent all day reeling in enormous rainbow trout and salmon - a truly unique experience that we hope to enjoy again.

I am a mature lady and I would highly recommend naturalwondersniagara. I have never ever had the inclination to go fishing but I found the whole experience most exciting. Due to the excellent tuition I received before setting sail I managed to land a 21lb. King Salmon at my first attempt. I must add that I would have been unable to accomplish this if I had not had the invaluable assistance from the experienced crew. The atmosphere on the boat was very friendly and welcoming which made for a very relaxed and enjoyable trip. I would definately repeat this exciting experience as it was well worth the cost.

My wife and I have been chartering boats for past 5 years all over North America - Lake Michigan, Cabo San Lucas, Atlantic Ocean, and this was the first time on Ontario; I must say, Joe's charter has been the most fun and comfortable charter we've ever been to! Not to mention how inexpenisve it was; One major thing that sets Joe apart from others is that he actually gets you involved in fishing as opposed to just have you reel the fish in; The size of fish we caught speaks of his mastery of finding the good fish! British humor makes the fishing more fun you could ever imagine! We highly recommend Joe!
