Information about Smallmouth Bass Fishing
Smallmouth Bass is a species of freshwater fish and a popular game fish sought by anglers throughout the temperate zones of North America. They are generally green with dark vertical bands rather than a horizontal band along the side. There are 13-15 soft rats in the dorsal fin. The upper jaw of smallmouth bass does not extend beyond the back of the eye. The smallmouth is highly regarded for its top water fighting ability when hooked – old fishing journals referred to the smallmouth bass as “ounce for ounce and pound for pound the gamest fish that swims”.
