About Caryonah Hunting Lodge

About Our Boar Once living only in the forests of Europe, the wild boar, introduced into Tennessee in 1912 by wealthy English sportsmen, found the hills and hollows to his liking and grew even more fierce as he multiplied in the mountains. Fast and dangerous, he sports razor-sharp tusks and hulking shoulders to back up his short and cunning charges. A foe worthy of a sportsman's steel.

Now an admixture of both the Russian Wild Boar and the famed southern "razorback", he has, if anything, gained a more savage temper.

Besides our wild boar hunts we also offer hunts for: rams (babiroussa-corsican, texas dall-black hawaiian-trophy ram), goats (angora-spanish), deer (sika-fallow), turkey, elk hunts, and black buck antelope.

Hunter's Hall Back from your day hunting with competent guides amid our mountain majesty, dine in medieval splendor at the groaning board located in the high beamed "Hunter's Hall". Feast on real Tennessee home cooking, then toast your shins before the massive rustic fireplace while swapping yarns in congenial company. You may want to browse among Caryonah's outstanding collection of ancient Indian artifacts before retiring to your comfortable rooms, each with it's own electric heat and private bath.

Hunted there several years ago and from the comments posted here I can see the great hunting and service are still the same. I would recommend it to anyone. I am taking my son next time for his birthday now that he is old enough.

I have hunted there three times. I have taken my children twice. Had a great time all three times. They are great with the kids hunting.

Hunted twice with them in 1999 and 2004. Took nice boars each time out. The second hunt involved a charge and a treed guide. Definitely not a penned hunting operation. Very well run.

The lodge was very nice,My guide was great he put us on great game. The ladie that was running place was very nice but she told us their was a grill there and i would never cook any thing on that. The lights in the hall way was out 90% of the time we were their and the guy up their that cut our meat took meat for our animals that was very up setting. Good place to hunt just skin and cut the meat your self.
