About Jack Hume Adventures

The Hume’s have been involved with guiding caribou hunts since the early 1970’s. Jack Hume Adventures is a family owned and operated business that is two generations strong.

Anyone booking a Quebec caribou hunt with Jack Hume Adventures can rest assured knowing that the Hume’s will do everything possible to ensure that you are completely satisfied with their services. Boasting the highest repeat business in the industry is certainly proof of that dedication.

Not all Quebec caribou hunts are created equally and you shouldn’t expect all Quebec caribou outfitters to be created equally neither. Plan your next Caribou hunting trip with Canada’s most trusted Caribou outfitter, offering Quebec caribou hunts on Quebec’s sub arctic tundra for over 30 years! No other caribou outfitter can offer you a better chance of success. Hunt Fair Chase, Hunt with the Pros, Hunt with Jack Hume Adventures, “Canada’s Most Trusted Caribou Hunting Outfitter”.

Take your time to go through each section of our website as it is important that you know what we offer in comparison to others. Please feel free to email or call us should you have any unanswered questions or inquiries. We would be very pleased to help you in any way we can. Part of our job is to ensure that your caribou hunt goes as planned without any hiccups and it all starts here!

Thank you for your interest in our Quebec Labrador Caribou hunts. Please take your time to carefully read through what we offer as not all hunts are created equal.

Having grown up in this business and being an avid hunter myself, I can truly understand how important it is for you to choose the right outfitter. Although we may boast the highest repeat business in the industry I realize that for some of you this may very well be a “trip of a lifetime”, therefore it is of great importance that we provide our hunters with not only the best chance of success possible but it is equally important that we offer you an enjoyable trip that you will hopefully cherish forever.

Having experienced every aspect of the business over the past three decades I am quite confident that no other outfitter in Quebec is more qualified to offer you a “hunt of a lifetime”.

Quebec’s sub arctic tundra is not only home to the world’s largest herd of migrating caribou but it is also home to numerous lakes and rivers that are crystal clear and abound with brook trout, lake trout, landlocked char and northern pike. Over the past 20+ years we have built a series of twenty-five outpost camps scattered throughout northern Quebec. Most of these camps offer excellent fishing, however a few of them stand out from the rest and offer exceptionally good fishing. By choosing three of our best fishing camps to use for our fishing only packages we are certain that our clients will experience some of the best fishing Quebec has to offer. We strictly offer catch & release fishing with barbless hooks, however you can eat as many fish as you would like while at camp. Expect to catch trophy size brook trout and/or landlocked arctic char ranging from one to seven pounds, lake trout from three to twenty pounds with the odd thirty-pound trout being hooked, northern pike up to twenty-five pounds.

Dear Richard,
Just a quick note to thank you for having us at Jack Hume Adventures. We all tagged out on great bulls while having the time of our lives. The guides were tremendous and the cooking in camp was excellant! And, most of all, there was no shortage of big bulls! The fishing...don't get me started. Jack Hume Adventures has got to be the best damn hunt there is, period. Team Outdoor Dreams is looking forward to coming back soon.

Tell everyone, "thank you" for us.

Take care,
Danny Leonard

Richard,
Just a note to let you know that the hunt we had in lat August was the greatest of my life. Sometimes then you book an unknown hunt, and we did our home work, you don't really know how it is all going to work out. Everyone on your staff is to be congratulated on performing above our expectations. The accomodations were great, the food was unbelieveable all the way to the Blue Berry cake on the last nite and our guide, Brian was the best. I am sending you a couple of pictures for your records. Also, I wanted to let you know that we are putting our 2007 catalog and will be not only putting several pictures in it from the hunt but I am working on putting at least the Jack Hume logo for all to see. Last year we sent out over 10,000 copies to dealers and end users all over the US, Canada and Europe.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know how great of a hunt it was.

Hello Richard and Amanda,

Just wanted to tell you thanks and say that was the most awesome hunt ive been on. Not because we took nice bulls and not because 2 are Boone and Crockets. [that was very good]But because you both and Linda too did your best to make it happen for us. I've been on 3 of you hunts and have sent dozens of clients to you and one thing for sure you are cosistently good at what you do. That you and i will be back with the guys. Here's a picture far your book. He scored 381 net and my 2nd scored 344 3/8 net B+C. He was not as nice as Brett Schultzs monster but im very proud of him. [see how the front shovels criss cross] I will see you all soon and be careful.

My first caribou hunt. Richard Hume has it down to a science from hotel pickup to delivery back to your hotel/airport with your meat butchered and vaccuum sealed! Absolute precision. I am a bowhunter but unfortunately the migration was slow. I would recommend a bowhunter go a week or two later than I did. Only had two shot opportunites, one at 60 yards which I did not take as 60 yards in the wind with a bow is not predictable and one at 55 yards which I missed in heavy wind. The other hunters used rifles and had all filled both tags in days. I eventually borrowed a rifle and had my first caribou in 30 minutes! If the migration had been a little heavier (it is unpredicatable and they would have moved us if it was better elsewhere) it would have been no problem with the bow. This hunt is a slam dunk with a rifle and a good challenge with a bow. Richard had an open spot on the following week's hunt and invited me to stay in camp free for another week and I am sure I would have filled my second tag with the bow but I had to return home for work. Excellent set up if the luck of the migration is on your side, you're in for an awesome hunt. I plan to go back with my bow!
