Welcome to our website! Makwa River Outfitters Ltd provides exciting guided trophy hunts for WHITETAIL DEER and BLACK BEAR. We provide these hunts in a relaxing family setting but we throw in a lot of fun!! These guided hunts are QUALITY HUNTS that are challenging but we make it easy for anyone, of all ages, to enjoy.

We have exciting COLOR PHASE BEAR that come in cinnamon, blonde and chocolate. This is, of course, in addition to the basic black bear. But the "basic black bear" can come in some wonderful variations as well ... he might have a star emblazed on his chest, or he may have a blonde nose. The color phase bear also have some dynamic variations too - it is all truly amazing! This is a great bear hunt!

Baiting in Saskatchewan is still allowed for bear. We keep up-dated with the best baiting techniques and YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE GOING TO SEE BEAR during this hunt! Many, many of our guests have told entertaining stories about playful cubs keeping them company until .... the forest grows quiet, the cubs prick up their ears and run to hiding places deep in the woods .... still silence prevails .... and then, from the corner of your eye, you sense a movement .... ever so slowly you turn ... and there he stands ... THE BEAR OF YOUR DREAMS!!

In Saskatchewan, our whitetail deer come big - in antler size as well as body! They are truly an amazing animal and are a charm to watch and study! And..... when that TROPHY WHITETAIL BUCK steps into your sights, it truly takes your breath away! this is a deer hunt that you will remember for years to come!

YOU WILL SEE A LOT OF DEER! We consider our success rate 100% - but we also need to tell you that not everyone harvests an animal!!! The reason for this is that the majority of our hunters have hunted with us for MANY years and they will turn down a 150 - 160 class deer only because they have taken a bigger animal with us in a previous year! It is important to note the EVERYONE SEES DEER AND HAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHOOT AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANT IS THAT EVERYONE HAS FUN!!

Baiting for deer is still allowed in Saskatchewan and you know that we have been hard at work on this long before the season starts. EVERYBODY GETS A FRESH TREE STAND AND EVERYBODY GETS AN ACTIVE TREE STAND. The stand is removed as soon as an animal is harvested so that only one animal per stand is taken. This shows our commitment not only to our hunters but also to our animals and to our business!

Female hunters are very much encouraged to come! You will enjoy everything about our camp!

Rest assured that you will LOVE our FULLY MODERN LOG lodge. The lodge sleeps 11 people very comfortably and includes a kitchenette, dining area, 2 bathrooms(with shower),and fiive separate bedrooms. You will have all the conveniences of power and running water. After a long hard day of hunting in remote wilderness, what could be better than "coming home" to a hot home-cooked meal, a hot shower and a soft bed!
