Opatcho Lk. Outfitters offers black bear hunting adventures in the heart of BC’s prime wilderness. Specializing in quality Canadian Moose hunting, guided Black Bear hunts, Grizzly Bear, Mule Deer, White Tail Deer and Wolf hunts. We also book Winter Predator hunts for Cougar and Lynx.

BC Guided Black Bear Hunts: At Opatcho Lake we are extremely successful hunting black bears with both rifle and archery equipment. Our black bear hunting territory varies from river bottoms, agricultural lands (which green up first) to high elevation country and alpine. This means we always have excellent black bear hunting conditions. All guided black bear hunts are done by “spot and stalk”, black bear hunting old roads, burns and clear cuts.

Spring Guided Black Bear hunts are conducted between May 1 – June 15. At that time the pelts are in prime condition.

Spring guided Black Bear hunts offer bow hunters incredible opportunities for a trophy animal. Our black bear hunting territory is perfect for spot and stalk type hunting. Most bow hunters have several stalk opportunities daily.

Our Fall guided Black Bear hunts are conducted between Aug 15 – Oct 1 and are usually part of a combination hunt with Deer, Grizzly, Wolf or Moose. Color phase Bears are very common.

Our beautiful main Lodge is situated on the shores of crystal-clear Opatcho Lake. This lake is full of trophy size rainbow trout with some exceeding the 10 pound range. Our black bear hunters stay in comfortable log cabins and enjoy our hearty home cooked meals. Real hot showers and a sauna are just a few of the amenities to mention in our fully equipped base camp.

Opatcho Lake Outfitters offers Mule Deer hunting adventures in the heart of BC’s prime wilderness. Specializing in quality Canadian Moose hunting, guided Black Bear hunts, Grizzly Bear, guided Mule Deer hunts, White Tail Deer and Wolf hunts. We also book Winter Predator hunts for Cougar and Lynx. Our guided Mule Deer hunts are usually in the lower elevations - many live on the agricultural lands and river bottoms. We hunt along the rivers by drift boat and jet boats as well as by still hunting and spot & stalk. Best mule deer hunting time for these trophy bucks is during the rut, Nov 1-30.

Opatcho Lake Outfitters has a very healthy Grizzly Bear population. Only recently have we been given a limited number of tags for guided grizzly bear hunts. Most bears are shot in higher alpine areas but some are also harvested in the lower elevations. The Spring Guided Grizzly Bear hunts are between May 1 - June 15. Many clients combine these guided grizzly bear hunts with Black Bear & Wolf. The Fall Guided Grizzly Bear hunts are between Sept 1 - Nov 1. This hunt can be combined with Moose, Black Bear, Wolf, and Deer.
