OUTFITTER OF THE MONTH - MARCH & APRIL 2007
Learn to shoot accurately and effectively at ranges you never thought possible, with your hunting rifle. Don’t spend thousands of dollars and precious time to watch that trophy of a lifetime disappear over a distant ridge because he is out of your effective shooting range.
Whether your just starting to hunt or shoot, or if you’re a seasoned veteran, you’ll learn shooting techniques and information that will increase your effective shooting range to distances you’ve only dreamed of.
Some of the topics that will be covered in our school are as follows:
• Proper gun cleaning techniques
• Scope tracking assessment
• Chronographing
• Long range equipment (scopes, rifles, barrels, rangefinders, spotting scopes, etc.)
• Minute of angle explained in depth
• All aspects of exterior ballistics, including; bullet choice and load development, ballistic phenomenon, bullet stability, ballistic coefficients, bullet construction, uphill/down hill shots and more.
• Abbreviated explanation of interior ballistics in relation to different component selection
• Drop charts explained
• Proper shooting techniques, (bench and position)
• Wind reading
• Custom gun building – what goes into it
• Animal shot placement
This will be a hands-on course, and will be done using your equipment. Class sizes will be limited to 10 people to ensure one-on-one interaction, and to make sure all of your questions and concerns are answered in detail. Shooting will be done from and bench at 100 yards and in the field at various size gongs set up from 400 to 1100 yards.
