About Ranchland Outfitters

OUTDOORSMAN.COM OUTFITTER OF THE MONTH - OCTOBER 2007

An experience of a lifetime awaits you in Alberta, as Ranchland Outfitters will professionally guide you on an Alberta waterfowl trip that you won't forget! Whether you are an avid hunter or a first time waterfowler, Ranchland Outfitters is one of the best outfitters to guide you for waterfowl. We are located right in the heart of where three migration routes meet in Alberta; our territory covers thousands of acres of land in North Eastern Alberta right to the Saskatchewan border. We live year round in our area and have access to all the great spots for the best guided duck and goose hunts.

Our limits in Alberta are still great. We are allowed 8 dark geese, 8 ducks, and 20 snow geese daily. With the use the newest and best equipment our limits are met most days. We get giant Canada's, lesser Canada's, specks, snows, Ross, mallards, and pintails.

You will stay in our newly renovated lodge complete with kitchen, dining room, and living room to relax after a day of duck and goose hunting. Your meals are prepared at our own ranch style restaurant where you will enjoy tasting Alberta Ranched Elk and our Famous Alberta Beef.

Our Alberta waterfowl hunting season opens on September 1 and offers incredible guided hunting to the end of October. We guide small parties of 6 to 8 people and offer group discounts on full group bookings. Our spots fill up quickly and it is advisable to book as soon as possible. If you are ever watching hunting videos and wonder where they get the footage, come to Alberta and find out first hand that places like that still exist.

Additional opportunities exist as we have an archery only whitetail camp.

Ranchland Outfitters showed us the best goose hunt I have ever been on. Rob was completely professional with everything we did. The lodging, food, and equipment was 1st class. Birds were everywhere with a day of over 70 birds on the ground. Overall I couldn't have ask for a better experience. I cant wait to go back.

Hey Rob sorry to keep bothering you. We were wondering if there were restrictions on the number of shells that can be brought across the border. Also wanted to let you know that it will 6 people total. 5 and a cameraman that will also be able to fill a limit. We also just purchased a couple hat cameras and a barrel camera so that should add some cool features to the footage. I also emailed you about weather and clothing. We are wondering if we will be needing any heavy cold weather clothing and if we should bring waders. Let me know when you get a chance. I will be sending the paperwork shortly.

Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner and its no bother. We have been busy here with the cows and the hay the last week or two and havent had much time for anything else. That sounds good about those extra cameras. The more the better. The weather should be a chance of light frost over night and warming up to 50F in early afternoon. That week I have seen it snow, rain, and be in the 80s so it is unpredictable. Dressing in layers is always best. If everyone has waders then bring them as we might use them. It is my understanding that each person can bring 200 rounds with them if it is in the original packaging. I will have lots of shells here. I have lots of KENT 12ga. 3" shells. When ever you get a chance please send me the info for all 6 hunters. Hows the traffic doing on the new site? Rob

We were wondering about bird processing. Do we need to be prepared to take all the birds home or are there places that will take the birds up there? Also wondering about taking some birds back whole to mount them? Snows and Specs!

Hi Andrew. I tell my hunters to be perpared to bring a few home each. I can find homes for alot of birds but when it gets too many its tough sometimes. A soft sided cooler is best as it takes no room coming up and little going home. Mounted birds can go home with you no problem. We will try and get them frozen first before you leave. You should be able to get some nice Specks to take home and hopefully the snows are here then. Rob
