About Anvik River Lodge
Why choose the Anvik River Lodge??? Because it's like having your own private fishing reserve at our truly remote yet extremely comfortable lodge. You normally won't see any other anglers, boaters or float planes during your stay. It's just us and the wildlife on this 120+mile river which is a tributary of the Yukon River.
Located about 450 miles Northwest of Anchorage the Anvik River Lodge really is the only lodge on the entire Anvik River. Our nearest neighbor is about 70 miles down stream in the Athabascan village of Anvik. Imagine floating down the same river that was used as the original trade route for Russian explorers on their way to the mighty Yukon.
Guests fly-in on our privately chartered flight from Anchorage to Anvik. Once there, the adventure begins with a comfortable boat ride from the shores of the Yukon River up the Anvik River to the lodge. Upon arrival at the lodge guests are delighted to find the comforts of home in such a remote area. The hand-hewn main lodge houses ten to twelve guests in five rooms, each with private baths. The rooms open out onto the hub of the lodge's activity - a massive great room with vaulted ceiling and picture windows out where our guests enjoy dining and socializing with one another. We also offer a private guest cabin that accommodates up to three guests. Imagine a whole week of not seeing anyone else beside our staff and the other guests at the lodge.
Picture yourself reeling in up to five species of Pacific Salmon, Northern Pike, Arctic Char, Dolly Varden, Arctic Grayling, White Fish - possibly all in the same day. While partaking in this incredible fishing you will enjoy close up sightings of sow grizzly bears teaching their cubs to feed on fish. You'll also have chances to see moose , gray and black wolves, otters, beavers, eagles, ospreys and over 50 other species of migratory and song birds that make the Anvik their homes.
The food at the Anvik is consistently rated top notch by our guests. We serve traditional fare along with vegetables many grown in our garden. Bread is homemade and there are always plenty of cookies and desserts to accompany our hearty meals. We are becoming famous for our steak and king crab extravaganza.

Our Alaska fishing lodges have comfortable heated rooms in the main bunkhouse. Cedar walls, real beds and down pillows in first class style! We also have hot showers and satellite internet. Bedrooms in the lodge can accommodate 2 to 4 anglers. Our excellent dinners may include Alaska halibut, Alaska salmon, pork chops, steaks or chicken. You will eat great every day. We serve a hot breakfast in the morning. Lunch can be back at the lodge or take a bag lunch and never leave the river.

Our Alaska fishing lodges is set up for the experienced fisherman with knowledge in operating outboard motors on small crafts. Our crafts are 18 foot Aluminum Alaskan Lunds with outboard motors operated from a side console. The operators must have the knowledge and the ability to read nautical maps. The Lodge will provide Alaska halibut fishing and Alaska salmon fishing charters in salt water for an additional charge. Details for guided Alaska fishing charters can be obtained at the lodge or through the office.
Our Alaska fishing lodges have a charter boat available for Alaska halibut fishing and Alaska salmon fishing, general sightseeing, whale watching and trips to LeConte or to Thomas Bay Alaska to view the icebergs and the glacier. Fly In Alaska fishing charters to several lakes offer fantastic rainbow trout fishing in pristine Alaska mountain lakes as well as general sightseeing. Helicopter charters can land you atop one of our many glaciers.
Island Point Lodge Alaska fishing guides will guide you to some of the fishing rivers which are active with salmon and trout. The Alaska fishing hours are unlimited, not like those of guided camps where fishing times are scheduled! Trolling for some Alaska salmon species is done directly in front of the lodge. This allows the fisherman an opportunity to fish from dawn (3 or 6 am) until breakfast, which are sometimes the most productive fishing hours for Alaska fishing. Within five to forty five minutes from the lodge there are several rivers offering the spinner fishing, caster and fly fisherman the opportunity to catch one or more of several species of Alaska salmon and trout.
