We have a variety of black bear hunting habitat well suited for hunting there are river bottoms, farm lands, or even high country forests. So no matter the conditions we always have the best black bear hunting available. Every guided black bear hunt is spot and stalk, so we hunt old roads, burns, and clear cuts.

Our guided spring black bear hunts start between May 1st and run thru mid June. We would like to say this is definitely the prime time for black bear hunting because their pelts are in the best condition.

The spring guided black bear hunts give archery hunters prime opportunities for trophy animals. The country we black bear hunt gives archery hunters perfect spot and stalk opportunities daily.

The fall guided black bear hunts start Aug 15th and run till Oct 1st these are usually part of a combination hunt with other animals such as moose, wolf, grizzly, or deer.

Our lodge is strategic placed on the shores of Opatcho Lake sporting many breath taking views. This lake is also home to trophy size rainbows that can exceed the 10 pound range. So when you are not out in the field black bear hunting there are other things to keep the inner sportsman in you happy. During your black bear hunt you will stay in a comfortable log cabin, eat fantastic home cooked meals, and sit in a sauna after a long hard day of black bear hunting. Our guided spring black bear hunts, either archery or rifle, take place over our baited areas. Spring black bear hunting at Alpine Outfitters gives you the chance of harvesting a true trophy black bear. When black bear hunting we commonly see bears between 6 to 7 feet. There are also many different color options such as blonde, cinnamon, chocolate, and black. Our personal best black bear hunt harvested a 8 footer. Our guided black bear hunts are conducted from tent camps NE of Peace River, Alberta. During our guided black bear hunt we have a two black bear hunting zone.

During late afternoon into the evening is the best time for black bear hunting, we hunt from tree stands and ground blinds. We have a unique black bear hunting opportunity here in Alberta, with 18 hours of sunlight shooting hours are greatly lengthened. All guided black bear hunts are over baited sites that have been prepared in advance.

There is an added bonus when black bear hunting and that is wolf licenses are included. Great fishing is also available.

Black Bear Hunting Area

Our bear hunts take place in Northern Alberta. These areas are made up of boreal forest, swamps, and muskeg. Our area has an excellent population of black bears and due to how remote and vast this area is the numbers and size of black bears always remains high.

Accommodations: Black Bear Hunts

You will stay in our comfortable tent bush camp consisting of canvas wall tents with wood stoves and cots. You will have a full breakfast prior to going to your stand, a bag lunch to take with you on your hunt, and a hearty dinner at the end of the day.

Hunt Prices

6 day bear hunt: $3,500.00

Trophy fee on 2nd bear: $500.00

-All bear hunts include wolf at no extra charge.

All costs are in US dollars and include license fees.

Alberta Black Bear Hunting

Our spring bear hunts take place from the last week of April to the first week of June in Northern Alberta. We accommodate both the rifle hunter and the bowhunter, each having an excellent opportunity to harvest a trophy black bear, or two! We have a 2 bear limit and we are regularly harvesting at 100% opportunity on the first bear and 80% on the second. We also have many color phased bears in our area, ranging from blonde, cinnamon, brown to black. Bears average 5-6 ft with 7 plus feet being possible.

We primarily hunt in stands over bait. If you are up to the challenge, spot and stalk options are always available. We utilize atv's to access the remote area where we bait and hunt.

We can combine any of our big game hunts. Try our standard black bear hunting package or give us a call to create a custom hunt. Combinations are limited and taken on a first come first served basis. Don't hesitate to contact us as they go quickly.
