World-class Alaska caribou hunting based out of Kotzebue, Alaska. Northwest Alaska is home to the largest herd of Barren Ground Caribou, called the Western Arctic Herd, with a population of 500,000 animals. Guided caribou hunts have been at 100% for the past few years. There is no other place in Alaska where you can find better odds in harvesting a trophy caribou.
Alaska caribou hunting provides a true remote arctic adventure. The ancient “caribou trails” crossing the tundra have been used for hundreds of years, and hunters regularly see moose, grizzly bear, black bear, wolves, Dall sheep, wolverine, and musk ox.

Adventure Tunilik Caribou Hunting Outfitters are located in the Far North region. The closest town is 315 miles, we are in the heart of caribou hunting country. The fastest recommend way to our caribou hunting location is by plane. There are no roads in our rustic uninhibited caribou hunting territory.
The caribou hunting season starts mid August till October 4th. There is an unimaginable number of caribou estimated at a whopping 1 million head. Quebec's Far North has three different herds of caribou: Leaf River, George River, and Torngat Mountain herds.
During the caribou hunting season in Quebec 10,000 animals are expected to be harvested. In our territory alone there are estimated to be about 450,000 head. Each year 1% of their number is taken during the caribou hunting season. This means that for years to come, the caribou hunting should be strong and prosperous providing us with many quality animals to choose from.
Caribou hunting is an art of knowing when and where the caribou will be. Their migrating patters can vary depending on temperature, spring thaw, rain, or wind. We caribou hunt in a triangular territory because of these many factors. There is no guarantee when caribou hunting, but because we cover our vast territory the odds of seeing that trophy is in your favor.
Our caribou hunting area totals 1860 square miles of tundra. With this wide area at your disposal the odds of success are greatly improved. We have three major caribou hunting camps with numerous other satellite locations throughout the area.
As you arrive you will be updated on the movement of the herd and their location. If your chosen caribou hunting location proves to hold no potential you will be given an option to move to a different location by using satellite to locate the migrating herd. We provide all this to you at no extra cost however this should be discussed upon your arrival at Schefferville.
