About Dark Timber Outfitting
Dark Timber Lodge is located between scenic Ridgeway and Telluride Colorado. The Lodge is surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest for your great outdoor enjoyment. At 9600 feet the location is rural, but the Lodge conveniences are comfortable.
The Lodge sleeps 24 guests comfortably. the Kitchen facilities include two five burner stoves with large ovens, refrigerator and freezer, food storage, and plenty of food prep area. The kitchen is fully equipped to meet all of your cooking needs. The dining room is centered around a huge stone fireplace. the living rooms and conversation areas are warmed by a wood stove. Three family guest rooms and a large bunkroom provide sleeping comfort for 24 guests. the interior walls are of a beautiful Colorado Aspen, wall to wall carpet and new bathroom facilities. Forty acres around the Lodge is fenced, with walking trails, an archery target course, three ponds stocked with fish, horse pastures and full access to the national forest.
Miles of trails lead out from the Lodge with endless fun for hiking, horseback riding, ATV rides, and Jeeping. Scenic overlooks and aspen groves are a must for the photography enthusiast. Group Horseback rides and ATV tours leave from the Lodge. Guided: Fly Fishing, Lake Fishing, White Water Rafting, Kayaking and more available upon request.
Guests can make arrangements to bring their own horses or ATV's.

This unique authentic western adventure will enable you to experience the wilderness of the Routt National Forest in the Rocky Mountains located approximately 40 miles southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This horseback riding trip is for 1 to 8 persons...a guide and meals are included. Customize this summer horseback riding vacation to your needs, stay overnight, 2 or 3 days, or even 5 days. View the "old west" and the Rocky Mountains like never before. See deer, elk, eagles and other abundant wildlife from the back of a horse.
Horseback Rides - June 24-September 30, 2006. Note: must make reservations at least two days in advance.
Wild Horse Tours - $50.00/person, minumum of two people.
Winter Wildlife Tours - See wildlife by the thousands, $50.00/person.
Horseback Rides - Half day rides, 4 person minumum, $60.00/person ($50.00/person for 5 or more in a group).
Horseback Day Rides - Two person minumum. These rides last from 6-8 hours, $100.00/person ($85.00/person for 4 or more in a group).
Tent Camp Pack Horseback Trips - Meals and lodging are included, customized to meet your needs. Overnight Trip is one and a half days at $225.00/person.
Pack Trips - Note: receive 10% off for 4 or more in your group. Lodging/Tents accommodate couples and/or groups.
