About Self Guided Hunts

Self Guided Antelope Hunts offers the experienced hunter world class DIY pronghorn antelope hunts with an opportunity to access private land without the added costs associated with pronghorn antelope hunting guides. We operate our unguided pronghorn antelope hunts out of two ranches in eastern and central Montana. The Ingomar Ranch in eastern Montana is home for our DIY pronghorn antelope hunts and prairie dog hunts, while the Martinsdale Ranch in central Montana is home for our DIY whitetail deer hunts and DIY elk hunts. We’ve tried to provide as much information as possible about our self guided antelope hunts on our website so be sure to check the various links. Located in eastern Montana, the Ingomar ranch is host to one of the most impressive Antelope populations in the country. There are several antelope herds that are permanent residents on the 250,000 acre ranch. Although the antelope are free-ranging they are also territorial which keeps them within their home range on the ranch. The size of the ranch also allows us to better manage antelope hunting pressure throughout the season by rotating pronghorn antelope hunting areas between groups. We will never schedule DIY pronghorn antelope hunts back to back for any particular area.

Depending on the size of your group you can expect your pronghorn antelope hunting area to be anywhere from 4,000-12,000 acres. You'll be the only ones assigned to your area so you won't have to worry about competing for antelope with anyone else. Because of the size of the ranch it also covers a wide variety of terrain from steep cliffs and buttes, to rolling hills and prairie, to winding coulee’s and river bottoms. However no matter where you may be on the ranch you will never be too far from one of the 100+ ponds and reservoirs where you will commonly find antelope watering.

Some of these trespass hunts even come with lodging. Trespass hunts are great for hunters who want to hunt with large groups or who may not have the time to scout before their hunt. Keep in mind, hunters success rates are dramatically higher on these hunts than the average guy hunting public land unguided. About Ivory Outfitters

Ivory Outfitters offers Archery, Muzzle-Loading and Rifle Hunts from August through the end of December.

With nearly 25,000 acres of premier hunting grounds, Ivory Outfitters provides the most pristine unguided hunting experience in northwestern Colorado. Ivory Outfitters offers only unguided hunts because we believe that the adventure of the hunt comes from the individual accomplishment of stalking the animal yourself versus a guide instructing you when to simply point and shoot.

The Big Game hunting on the Rio Ro Mo Ranch includes Elk, Mule Deer and Antelope. All hunts on the Rio Ro Mo are Unguided and Fair Chase. While on the Rio Ro Mo most hunting conducted will be Spot and Stalk. The ranch lies at 6,500 plus feet of elevation and the topography consists of large open areas with rolling hills filled with sagebrush. As you hunt the higher areas of the ranch you will start to move into thick Juniper trees.

Roughing it has no place at the Ivory Wilderness Lodge, four luxury tents where 32-inch plasma televisions with satellite hookups, wireless internet, microwaves, electric heaters, small refrigerators, goose down comforters and Woolrich blankets are standard.

Measuring 16 by 20 feet, the tents are furnished with four beds each with top-of-the-line mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets. A luxury bathhouse with tile floor, four showers and a long changing bench services all guests.

The Ivory Wilderness Lodge luxury tents are situated at the south end of the ranch, a peaceful and pristine site to relax at the end of a days hunt. Breakfast, a sack lunch, and a gourmet dinner are provided in a separate dining tent, with an atmosphere of unparalleled country comfort.
