We are located in the north eastern side of the province, nestled against the pristine foothills of the Porcupine Provincial Forest. This vast wilderness that covers over 1.5 million acres with its towering stands of timber, breathtaking river valleys, and its many tranquil lakes offer a panoramic and picturesque setting for hunters to experience a true hunt for the trophy of a lifetime. As well as a geologically superior place for these trophy whitetails to reach there full potential.

The trophy bucks in our preserve are a product of over 15+ years of a very intense breeding program that has always put its focus primarily on growing a wide big framed 6+6 whitetail with long tines and the huge mass that is so common in a Saskatchewan whitetail buck. Approximately 90% of the mature bucks in our preserve will score over 170 SCI and approximately 45-55% of those will score between 200 and 250+ SCI every year. Hunters enjoy incredible hunting experiences for monster bucks throughout our entire 4 month trophy season, taking high scoring bucks all the way to the end. Our trophy hunters typically average over 195 SCI for the season.

We believe that the experience of the hunt is as important as the size of the trophy buck you hunt for, we strive to exceed in both of these expectations.That is why our pricing is not based on the inch. We don't know the score of these bucks. It would only be "guess-ti-mating" anyways. When you hunt with us you decide yourself which one of the many bucks you see will be the trophy buck for you, regardless of what he will score.. The last thing we want you to be worried about when that monster buck of a lifetime materializes from the dense undergrowth is how much he is going to cost. We want you caught up in the excitement and thrill of the hunt all of us search for every time we enter the woods.

The hunt can accommodate 10 hunters comfortably in our fully modern lodge with toilets, showers, all bedding and towels furnished and all meals prepared by our expert cooks. NO tents here! By the way, lady hunters are welcome, too!

The terrain is gently rolling hills and meadows with mixed aspen and spruce timber at a modest elevation of 2000 feet. Imagine that – a high quality elk hunt without mountain climbing or pack horses -- and with plenty of breathable air! Rifle shots are seldom over 200 yards as the timber is fairly thick.

Spirit of the North accommodates all practical hunting methods including box blinds, treestands, stalking and bugling. During this early season hunt the bulls will be bugling and you will thrill to the sound of elk music in the air. Guides will have calls so you don’t need to bring one.

In early September the weather can be as warm as 70 degrees and sunny to rain or snow and temperatures as low as freezing, so hunters should be prepared for all of the above. We suggest that you be able to dress in layers so that you can easily adjust to the conditions at hand. Good rain wear is a must as are good rubber boots. In all cases bring the soft and quiet camouflage hunting clothing made of wool or fleece. There are no legal color requirements so your choice of camo will be fine.

Hello my name is Steve Rahn, and I am the owner, outfitter, here at Silvertine, and personally guide most of our guests. I would like to thank you personally for visiting our web site. We are a husband and wife owned and operated facility, we understand that customer satisfaction is the key to our success. I have been personally guiding for over 20 years, and the few guides we have that help us are like family, and have been with us for many years. We take a minimum amount of hunters each year, and give each hunter, or group of hunter's, exclusive use of the estate, with loads of "elbow room". Our main goal is to provide a quality hunt experience, with top of the line trophy big game for each hunter. Our secondary goal is to offer you a comfortable log cabin lodge, with a relaxed "homey" atmosphere, located inside the hunting area. We specialize in personal attention to each hunter, giving you, our guest, a great hunting experience and a feeling that you received more than your monies worth.

Our preserves are all forested and offer a wide diversity of mature timber, brush, springs, rolling hills, and creeks. This diversity provides a very challenging hunt and a spectacular setting to hunt in. Your experience will be a hunt, and not merely a shoot. Silvertine provides the highest quality hunts for four species of Elk (Rocky Mountain, Roosevelt, Manitoban, and Russian White Elk), Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Plains and Wood's Bison, Fallow Deer and Huge Wild Boars. Silvertine holds many World records and numerous top ten animals! Silvertine has a 100% kill-to-date record, and over 108 SCI record book entries as of 2007.

I would also like to point out that we choose our bull elk for our guests out of combined herds of over 2000 animals. They are turned out onto the preserve in June or July. Only mature 8+ year old bulls are chosen based on antler spread, classic tine length and shape, and all bulls will have dark capes, long beards and mature features. This along with the many wallows and dense conifer timber have gave Silvertine's bull elk the distinction of having the darkest antler color available anywhere, a rich chocolate brown, with highly polished tips, or "silver-tines" as we like to call them. The benefit is your lifelong enjoyment of THE MOST SPECTACULAR elk mount in your trophy room you will ever see.
