We started Defensive Edge in 1996 as a part time business. In 2000 we made the jump to a full time business specializing in tactical/competition arms & long range shooting training. It was about this time that we started building a lot of long range hunting rifles. My time as a SWAT team member, competitor and long range hunting had a lot of influence on the early long range hunting rifles and we have evolved primarily into a long range rifle and long range shooting shop for military/law enforcement and civilian interests. Defensive Edge Inc. has grown to provide cutting edge technology in long range small arms and training in long range shooting. We have brought the technology and techniques from long range hunting, sniper competitions, various precision shooting competitions and tactical applications together to provide some of the best long range shooting school training and long range small arms available. New for 2009 we are expanding into video for training and hunting primarily based around long range shooting. THOMPSON LONG RANGE HUNTING SCHOOL: Don’t book another hunt until you have taken this long range shooting class! Take our years of combined experience, pack it into two days, and use it the rest of your life. Without a doubt, you will be amazed at your own ability and what you can do once you have taken this valuable long range hunting course.
During this long range shooting school you will: Learn Principles of long range shooting, Learn simple reloading techniques, Shoot these loads and see the difference in speed and accuracy and Move to the long range and advance at your own speed up to 1000 yards.
Simply call and book your spot in the long range shooting school & long range hunting course, then make your flight arrangements to Salt Lake City, Utah and ground transportation to Logan, Utah. We will provide hotel lodging and food.
The price of the 2-day long range shooting school is $1,550 for the first person and $1,000 for the second, up to four in a group. Shooting schools run from April to August.
During the shooting school we work exclusively with the Weatherby 30-378. No personal rifles accepted.
After the long range shooting is over these rifles are available for purchase for $3,200. These long range hunting rifles are fully set up and ready to shoot. If you wish to purchase a long range hunting rifle without attending the course they are available for $3,900 each.

About Long Range International
Our Long Range Shooting School Mission Statement: Providing marksmanship instruction to men and women to enable them to engage targets out to their weapons maximum effective range.
Conceived in 2007 by members of Third Battalion First Marines Scout Sniper Platoon, Long Range International is dedicated to instructing shooters in precision long range rifle fire and the discussion of all things combat arms. Located at a private reserve in eastern Wyoming we will be providing three courses of instruction for June, July and August.
