THOMPSON'S LONG RANGE SHOOTING SCHOOL: If you want your next hunt to be highly successful we suggest this long range shooting course first. Our short highly educational 2 day course allows to have a lifetime of success in long range shooting. We have years of combined long range hunting experience, we want everyone to be as successful as we have been with this new and highly developed skill.

Our long range shooting school will educate you in the principles of long range shooting. We will also provide you with simple reloading methods. We promise if you shoot these new loads that your speed and accuracy can make 1000 yard shots possible.

When you decide that long range shooting and hunting techniques are a critical piece to your own development as a hunter, call and book your spot today. We are located in Logan, Utah about 1 ½ hours from Salt Lake City airport, we will provide you with your food and lodging upon your arrival to Logan. We promise the skills you will need for a lifetime of success as a hunter.

The beginning of our long range shooting classes start in April and run through August. We have discounts for those of you traveling in groups. We can accommodate up to four people per group. Our two day long range shooting school prices start at $1,550 for single enrollment and $1000 for the second person and up.

We do not accept personal rifles at our long range shooting school, we use the Weatherby 30-378 exclusively. If you have any questions about our long range shooting school please call or visit our website for additional details.

After the 2 day, long range shooting course is over these long range shooting rifles are available for purchase at $3,200. These rifles are available to purchase regardless of your attendance of the long range shooting school for $3,900, but there that additional discount for those that do. If you choose to purchase one after your long range shooting course they will be set up and all ready for you.

Topics covered (depending on class) include: Use of telescopic sight, Application of the fundamentals of marksmanship, Basic understanding of applied ballistics, Use of ballistics programs, Keeping a shooting log/data book, Making a trajectory/range card, Selecting a scope, Trigger and breath control, Calling shots, Estimating wind, Zeroing your rifle, Engage targets in the field at known distances out to 800 yards, Application of the fundamentals of marksmanship through non-conventional shooting positions, Theory, practical, and computational aspects of advanced ballistics, Range estimation using mil-dot relation formulas and laser range-finders, Engage targets in the field at known distances out to 1000 yards, Locate, range, and engage unknown-distance target arrays from unconventional positions under time constraints, and Operator level maintenance of your rifle system.
