P.B.Guide Service with camp located in Maine North Woods Region offers baited Black Bear hunts in the scenic Allagash Wilderness Region, one of the last great wilderness areas in Maine. The area has a good mix of fir and hard wood stands and one of the highest population's of bear in the state. Couple the facts of feed availability, baiting, the vast, virtually uninhabited forest and very low hunting pressure and you have Prime Bear Country, all with limited access.

Our hunts are over active, baited, elevated, sturdy stands in a very high density bear area. The sighting of bear while on these stands is almost 1OO% with some hunters that saw several bear in one evening. Our kill ratio in the last few years has been better than 80%.

We use trail timers on our baits so you won't waste your time sitting over a bait where the bear only come in after dark.

We cater to hunters with bow, pistol, rife, or muzzleloader. We cannot guarantee that you will kill a bear, but on the GUARANTEED HUNT if you don't get a shot at one, next years on me. We are hunting in an area with a large population that has never been commercially hunted before with many large bruins roaming the area. We provide transportation to and from tree stands. We also can skin, cut, and freeze your bear for you ready for transportation. All you need is a cooler. We remember you are our guest, and want to make you have a memorable hunt you will tell your kids and grand kids about.

If you don't get a shot at a bear, next year is free. Sows with cubs does not count, or bear crossing the road, if you miss doesn't count. But if you see a bear on the bait we expect you to shoot. Although you may see a trophy bear on this hunt this hunt is not for the trophy hunter who may pass up several bear. This hunt is good for the first time bear hunter or someone who has been on a hunt and never shot or saw a bear. The guaranteed hunt costs more than the regular priced bear hunt.

The owners, Bob & Jaye Parker established Stony Brook in 1980 because of the great appreciation of Maine’s vast wilderness and game. Both grew up in families that were Maine hunting and fishing enthusiasts and it just seemed right that we wanted to share that knowledge and experience with others. We began this adventure and found it to be exactly what we envisioned.

We specialize in Maine hunting for big game and offer personalized professional outdoor adventures. Our commitment to you is to assist you in making your Maine hunts productive as well as memorable. We offer Black Bear with hounds, Black Bear over bait, White Tail Deer, Moose and Bobcat hunts. Our hunter to guide ratio is 2 to 1 on Black Bear and Bobcat hound hunts, 5 to 1 on Black Bear over bait and Deer hunts and 1 to 1 on Moose hunts. We limit the number of hunters per week to match these ratios thus keeping our commitment for personalized services. We provide all meals, lodging, transportation to and from the Maine hunting area and guiding services. Prices are all inclusive, with the exception of licenses and permits and there are NO gate or hidden fees.

About Penobscot Bay Outfitters

Registered Maine Master Hunting Guide Todd Jackson has been hunting and fishing the Maine Coast all his life. I started fishing at age 5 and Hunting with my dad at age 10. I have owned and operated Penobscot Bay Outfitters since 1992. I am a licensed US Coast Guard Captain and a commercial boat operator.

All of our Maine Bear Hunts are on private leased land. This assures that we are the only ones hunting those sites. Our tree stand sites for Maine Bear Hunts are all platform ladder stands or portable loc-on stands. The stands you will be set at are guaranteed to be active bait sites. The baits are all pre-baited by your Maine Bear Guides. All of the stands will be 12'to 20' off the ground and will be 15 to 30 yards from the bait site for the best shots for your Maine Bear Hunts. Black Bear are big animals and we recommend that you hunt with a rifle no smaller than a .243 cal or a shotgun with slugs when on Maine Black Bear Hunts. If you would like to use a bow you must use broadheads no smaller than 7/8" when on Maine Black Bear Hunts. All Maine Bear Hunts are from the lodge and we provide cooked meals. Maine Bear Hunters are taken to the stands and picked up at the stands by the guides. We provide tracking services if needed.

Our Maine Deer Hunts are Bow Hunting only in the months of September and October. These Deer Hunts in Maine will take place on the offshore islands or on the main land in the Penobscot bay region. Most of the islands the Deer populations are thriving almost to the point of over population. Many on Maine Deer Hunts have very large bucks on them with respectable racks even some Pope and Young bucks. There is opportunity to take 2 or 3 Deer of any sex on these Maine Deer Hunts with good placed shots. We have already placed stands or you can bring your own stands. We are hunting over food sources or trails that Deer use to feed. Our shots are 10 to 35 yards. With our TDB duck boats we have the mobility to hunt many islands on the Maine coast not just one or two like others. Most Islands are Spike Camp Set-up with outfitter tents, cots and cooking gear (we do all the cooking so you can hunt). All Maine Deer Hunters arrive the day before the hunt so that they can be transferred to the island for the Maine Deer Hunt.
