Our hunt areas are extremely remote and have one of the largest concentrations of big black bears in Manitoba, plus trophy colored bears. We take 7’ colored bears every year. Black bears average 350 lbs. in size. Big skulls. Each camps is customized and limited to 2-3 hunters per week. This is Bear Hunting at its finest.

This is typical trophy whitetail deer terrain. It is a river bottom valley that cuts through rich farmland. Our usual Manitoba hunting adventure will be two hunters for about every 2000 acres. Steeprock River Outfitters specializes in spring and fall Black Bear hunts with over 2,700 square miles of our own exclusive hunting territory between 3 different Game Hunting Areas. This allows us to have total access to hunt these areas without the presence and pressure of other Outfitters and non-resident Black Bear hunters, which makes your hunt a much higher and greater success!
Each of our Black Bear hunts have a high percentage of seeing several different types of Black Bears including, harvesting a big or color phased Bear. For the past several years we are proud to admit that we have an exceptional 92% success harvest rate, while 40% of our harvests have been color phased Bears. Each year we harvest several Boone & Crockett, and Pope & Young Bears, with weights ranging from 250lbs - 500lbs and measuring 5'5" - 7'6" nose to tail with skulls measuring 18"+.

Our hunting area is roughly 360 square miles in northern Manitoba. As we are located in the Pre Cambrian Shield, our area is comprised of lakes, rivers, muskegs and rock outcrops. It only has one road that runs through it and has very little human activity. None - during the spring bear season. This area has had no hunting pressures in the last 5 years.
