About Burnt Sky Outfitters

Welcome to Burnt Sky Outfitters. We are a south-central Iowa Hunting and Game Lodge located near Lorimor, Iowa. We offer Whitetail Deer and Wild Turkey Hunts on Iowa and Missouri Lands. We can accommodate small groups in our on-site lodging.

Burnt Sky Outfitters offers shotgun deer hunting, muzzle loader deer hunting and archery deer hunting. Shed Hunting is excellent here as well.

Tree stands and ground blinds are our primary hunting styles. Bring your own tree stand if you prefer.

Rut season in Iowa is mid November. Iowa is in the Iowa DNR Hunting Zone #4 for Wild Turkey. Non-Resident Deer License Applications are accepted from May 3, 2009 to June 1, 2009. Iowa Deer Hunting Seasons typically start mid September and go through mid January. Iowa Wild Turkey Hunting Seasons are offered spring and fall.

Your guides and hosts are Bill Bates and Bucky Reper. Seasoned hunters that know the wildlife patterns of their land and will position your hunts to the best possible advantage.

They will be your guides while hunting at Burnt Sky Outfitters and look forward to your stay and making sure your time here is a great memory.

They know the lay of the land and wildlife patterns on the ground you will be hunting. They want your hunt to be successful and will work hard to make sure your hunting experience is what you expect. Iowa's rolling green hills and trees are perfect habitat for Whitetail Deer and Wild Turkey habitat.

About Honey Creek Outfitters

Our Missouri hunt is located on 5,000 acres of prime game habitat from hardwoods, and creek bottoms, over green hills in north Missouri. Here at Honey Creek outfitters we want to be able to provide you with a Missouri hunt of a lifetime. You will have access to massive whitetail deer and turkey on our Missouri hunts.

We have over 1600 acres of corn and soybean fields. Our previous selection of sight scouting and stand placement guarantees you all the success a hunter could possibly have. Although we know that when you book a Missouri hunt you may have other methods in mind and you are encouraged to bring with you, your own stand if you are more comfortable with that idea. Our stand placements have been the most successful when we have placed them in bottleneck areas between bedding and food sources. We also have many along the edges of crop land. Our Missouri hunts are all fair chase adventures there is no high fences in the area. We try and authenticate a truly unique sportsmen experience in the woods for your Missouri hunt. Our 5000 acres are on privately owned property with no access for public hunting, guaranteeing the best opportunity for your success. We have a maximum of 8 hunters per day to ensure that everyone has an equal Missouri hunting opportunity. We also have a strict game management program with harvests at a minimum of 8 points and a width of the ear tips. On our Missouri hunts your typical deer harvest is within 125-130 class deer.

We also have excellent spring turkey Missouri hunts because of our sustaining populations. These Missouri hunts have had a wonderful success rate of 95% since our opening season back in 2003. All of our Missouri hunts are fully guided. Our Missouri hunting hours are till 1:00 pm each day leaving us plenty of time to scout roosting areas. Hello, welcome to Windy Ridge Outfitting located in Van Buren County, Iowa. We have hunts available in Southeast Iowa and Northeast Missouri. Our location has created the greatest opportunity in the world as a white tailed deer hunter; to hunt the low pressured, rut crazed whitetails of the mid-west.

Every hunter should experience this opportunity at least once. Our goal with Windy Ridge Outfitting is to give each hunter the best possible experience hunting in Southeast Iowa and Northeast Missouri. We believe our farms are the best of the best. We have quite possibly the best deer hunting properties in the Midwest and we will offer you the best experience when it comes to the quality of your hunt. Our staff is not only extremely knowledgeable on whitetail hunting, but very professional and courteous.

We pride our operation as a low pressure hunting enviroment, meshing the right amount of property with the selective number of clients who hunt with us each year. We offer you the “hunt of a lifetime", where you have a very good chance to bag the "deer of a lifetime". We will be running limited numbers of hunters, with some booking three years in advance. We have over 10,000 of the best acres available in Iowa and Missouri with hundreds of acres of food plots.

As the owners and operators of Windy Ridge Outfitting, we have over 20 years experience in the whitetail woods individually and 40 years collectively. While having killed several Pope and Young deer, nothing compares to what our clients have killed over the past three years. This is a testament to our desire to put our clients first and foremost. Our guides are some of the best you can find anywhere.

Our shot opportunity (NOT harvestes animals, but opportunity at animal over our minimum) has been hovering at 130% over the last three years. Our success rate, meaning animals taking a ride in the back of the truck has been 68% for 2008, 2009, & 2010 cumulatively. Our hunters have been rebooking at a rate of over 80% which is extremely high for the industry.

After the days hunt, you will settle in at our lodge, located in the midst of our properties. You will enjoy some very good cooking with plenty of food and a good time among friends in the evening.
