Katmai Trophy Lodge is a custom Log Lodge on the banks of the World Famous Naknek River in Bristol Bay, Alaska. We are located at the edge of Katmai National Park and permitted to access much of Katmai's amazing Salmon and Trout fishing waters. The Naknek River offers the best Trout and Salmon fishing in Alaska. The Naknek River boasts major runs of King ( Chinook ), Sockeye ( Red ), Silver ( Coho), and Chum Salmon along with Monster Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling. The Naknek River and the surrounding Katmai National Park are also excellent habitat for bears, bald eagles, moose, wolves, caribou and other Alaskan wildlife.
Over 3 million Sockeye Salmon return to the Naknek River each summer to spawn. This is the largest Sockeye Salmon run not only in Bristol Bay but in Alaska. Our prime location allows us to not only fish most waters of Katmai but also most of Bristol Bay on our remote fly in fishing trips.
Visit the Naknek River and Bristol Bay in June and July for trophy King Salmon fishing. These monster fish average over 30 lbs and can reach up to 60 lbs or larger. Late June to the end of July will receive Bristol Bay's largest Sockeye Salmon run with many days receiving hundreds of thousands of Sockeye's into the Naknek River. In late July through September we will be fighting the acrobatic Silver Salmon ( Coho ). Pound for Pound the Silver Salmon is the top fighting Salmon. Perfect for fly fishing, the Silver Salmon will also take top water flies or lures for the spin fisherman.
Even with record runs of Salmon the real prize on the Naknek River are the Trophy Sized Rainbow Trout. 10 pound Rainbow Trout are caught on the fly every day with many fish over 30 inches. This is truly the finest Rainbow Trout fishing in the world. We cater to both the fly fisherman and the spin fisherman, from novice to expert. Most of our fishing done by walking and wading but also lots of options for boat fishing and/or drifting.
Airplanes are available for fly in fishing trips to Katmai Park and other locations in Bristol Bay. Also a short flight away is the Brooks River and one of the most famous Bear Viewing locations at the Falls. Go for the day and enjoy the wildlife or cast for beautiful Rainbow Trout in the Brooks River.

The Nushagak River has the largest King Salmon Run in the state of Alaska and one of the largest Silver Salmon runs. For over 30 years Briarwood has been a “slice of wilderness” in central Ohio, embracing a relaxed and casual atmosphere of soothing freshwater amid breathtaking vistas. With a majestic landmass covered with numerous lakes and trout streams, Briarwood is considered to be the largest private fishing resort east of the Mississippi. Our large artesian springs form the headwaters for one of Ohio’s best trout fishing waterways, the Mad River, and we offer some of the finest fishing in the country for Brook, Brown, Golden, and Rainbow trout. With 125 acres of lakes, our waters are the deepest in Ohio, abounding with Small and Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Walleye, Perch and Tiger Musky.

With over 30 years in the industry, Briarwood hosts an amazing array of fishing opportunities. Come fish our streams for Rainbow, Brook, Brown, and Golden varieties of world-class trout. Sixteen lakes are stocked with first-rate Small and Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Walleye, Perch, Stripper Bass, and Tiger Musky.
Members have numerous fishing pools to choose from: “Briarwood” (8), “Pine” (5), “Wilderness” (4), and “Mountain Streams” (5), each with its own unique challenge and character. All fish here forage on insects, and we have excellent hatches throughout the fishing season providing plenty of forage base, along with crayfish and other organisms in the streams.
The atmosphere here at Briarwood is very relaxed and casual. For your convenience we have three rustic lodges, each located on its own private lake. Furnished with DirecTV satellite, modern kitchens, massive stone fireplaces, recreation equipment, and large wooden decks complete with outdoor grilling stations.
