OUTDOORSMAN OUTFITTER OF THE MONTH - JUNE 2010
Our summer pack trips offer an excellent non-traditional vacation with family and friends. Warm weather, high mountain scenery, abundant sight-seeing and wildlife photography are the perks of one of these classic outings. Yet, this haven of recreation, fishing and wildlife is largely secluded especially when compared to the busy thorofares of Yellowstone country a few miles to the west. On the Big Horns you will see more of the West the way it was; the way it ought to be.
Our horses are well trained strong and mountain wise. One need not be an excellent rider to fully enjoy the trip. Days are of ten spent riding and exploring remote areas off the beaten path. You will enjoy discovering areas seldom visited, viewing summering wildlife, searching for wily trout or photographing breathtaking mountain landscapes.
Our trips usually comprise just your family or a few friends. The daily itinerary is tailored to your interests, whether it be riding, photography, hiking, looking for wildlife, exploring, or just relaxing. Our trips are excellent for even the youngsters in your family. We too have young children and can attest to their love of the wilderness.
We invite you to “rough it” in style at our “home away from home.” We take pride in our camp where each canvas walled tent is fully equipped with padded cots, woodstoves, lanterns, and generally the finest in outdoor recreational comfort. You’ll dine and even shower in special tents. Our meals are second to none as we serve hearty western meals; the finest the mountains have to offer. A long day of adventure culminates around a warm campfire sharing stories or reminiscing about your days experiences.
Another option Tangle Ridge Outfitters offers is what we call our Progressive pack trip. This highly mobile camp setting moves each day. The trip features many miles of wilderness trails over the course of five days with new scenery enjoyed daily. Because it is progressive, camp will consist of “pup” tents and of course much more horse back riding.
We at Tangle Ridge Outfitters invite you to enjoy this unforgettable beauty with us. We’ll tailor the adventure to match the experience you have in mind. With small groups our guests will learn more and experience more with our private approach to back country outfitting. Wyoming is like no place on earth and we invite you to come see it for yourself.

About Spotted Horse Ranch
Whatever your dream of the West, it’s real here at the Spotted Horse Ranch. The valley cradling the Hoback River has been cultivated by working ranchers for generations. As times changed, the simple log homes and rustic barns gave way to guest ranches for the "dudes" who came up from the cities. Fresh air, unspoiled natural surroundings, and the feeling that time is suspended were in demand then and still in ample supply.
The Spotted Horse Ranch has been Outfitting hunters since 1961. We have two camps, as well as ten guest cabins at the ranch. We currently own more than fifty horses, so we will be sure to have one to suit your style. Elk, Deer, and Moose hunts take place from our Hunter Creek Camp, located sixteen miles into the backcountry. This camp is the larger of the two, in the heart of 152,000 acres of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
Elk, Deer, & Moose Hunts - You will have a total of seven nights in Hunter Creek Camp, riding/hunting, out on day eight to return to the ranch. All meat and trophies are cared for by experienced packers, and transported to the ranch to our walk-in meat cooler. Meat processing and taxidermy are both available in Jackson. The country we hunt is steep and rugged, and much hunting will be done on foot as well as horseback; please consider the physical nature of such a hunt.
Antelope Hunting is a day hunt from the Ranch. Transportation by vehicle and all meals are provided. A typical antelope hunt would be: Breakfast at the Ranch at 5:30, depart for hunting areas by six A.M. A sack lunch is provided. We usually return to the ranch by seven P.M. for dinner.
Jackson Hole attracts visitors from around the world with legendary skiing and winter adventure andhundreds of thousands of acres of spectacular back country to discover in all seasons. The Town of Jackson hosts galleries, shops, museums, and restaurants that offer a wide variety of experiences – from barbecue to haute cuisine, and from western art to contemporary, it’s alive in Jackson. Two national parks, Grand Teton and Yellowstone, draw several million people a year to take in the amazing array of geographic features, geysers, and wildlife.

About Double N Outfitters
Welcome to Double N Outfitters. 2011 promises to be another great year. Starting as soon as the run-off is over and we can get to our campsite area, we will be taking summer pack trips. These trips are great for sightseeing, photography, relaxing, or fishing for the Kokanee salmon that run up the creek from Palisades or for the native cutthroat trout. Call us now for trips this summer.
We offer summer pack trips into our tent camp. This is a beautiful, scenic seven-mile horseback ride into camp. From camp there are a lot of options of things to do for the day. The creek that runs just across the meadow from camp is full of cutthroat trout, so fishing is always a great choice. The mountainous terrain and abundant wildlife make these trips perfect for photography.
If it’s fishing, photography, horseback riding, hiking, or just laying around camp, we can fit these trips to suit you. We have something for the entire family.
We are also booking hunts for the 2009 season now. We specialize in bull elk, but we have trophy mule deer, moose, mountain sheep, and black bears in our area. Whether you prefer archery or rifle, our experienced guides can definitely get you a shot at any of these species. We saw several mule deer in the 30? range the past few years as well as several large bull moose and big black bears.
We have very comfortable accommodations for our guests as well as one of the best camp cooks in the country. After a hard day on the hill there is nothing like riding into camp with a great meal waiting for you.
If you are looking for a true wilderness hunting or camping experience, not just riding around in a truck or on an ATV, you need to give us a call.
